But if no heartbeat is seen, couples should wait for one week for the heartbeat to appear. My question though is if anyone has ever experienced anything like this and was it a vanishing twin? built up blood? Or were you surprised with 2 healthy heartbeats at your next visit? I go back in 2 weeks and I'm more than grateful for one healthy baby but I'm obviously curious now. In the case of IVF pregnancy, the right time of implantation can be found out and at 6 weeks, fetal heartbeat can be detected. He also explained that the initial cramping and light brown discharge was most likely implantation bleeding/cramping, which makes sense because with these new dates it would have happened at 4 weeks. He told me not to panic and that this would have zero effect on my surviving baby right now. He told me that this was most likely either a vanishing twin or a collection of blood. Im really worried because my days are exact since I went through an IVF cycle in order to get pregnant. When it is present (between 3 and 5 weeks gestation ), it can be a positive sign. This past Monday I finally got an appointment with my DR who also did an ultrasound but he also had me measuring smaller (saying that I was actually at 6 weeks not 7) but we saw a healthy heartbeat! However, while he was looking around he saw another sac (I'm assuming that was what it was because now of course I can't remember what he called it but it looked identical to the sac with the healthy heartbeat just minus a baby). Ok, today I went for my ultrasound and we didnt see a heartbeat. The gestational sac is the first structure your doctor will look for with an early ultrasound. They also took my blood levels over the course of a week and a half and while my first drawing came up with very low levels, they only continued to increase. They immediately did an ultrasound and said that they did see a small sac in my uterus but that it wasn't measuring quite where it should be for that time frame. so I went to a local clinic to find out what was happening. 2 weeks ago I started having mild cramping and light brown discharge which completely freaked me out. IVF is associated with a 2-4 incidence of ectopic pregnancy. I ended up also doing a lot of immune investigations, as I have autoimmune hypothyroidism, turns out I had very over active nk cells too. I'm hoping anyone can add their thoughts on this and I apologize for this post being so long but here it goes.Ībout 3 weeks ago I took a positive pregnancy test and according to my last cycle, it would technically put me at 7 weeks today. I had unexplained infertility, tried naturally for 3-4 years, then did 3 ivf transfers, only one took but also no heartbeat at 6 weeks.
